Hello Fall 2025

A Note from Suzan ...
As the golden leaves begin to fall and the air turns crisp, I always find myself embracing the subtle shift in pace that autumn brings. There’s something grounding about this time of year - a fresh start wrapped in cozy textures, warm meals, and quiet moments. It’s a season that invites reflection, reset, and renewal - in our homes, our habits, and our routines.
For many of my clients, fall is also a time to re-engage with future plans. Whether it’s preparing a home to sell next spring, finding the right neighbourhood to settle into before the holidays, or simply staying informed about the market - this is the perfect season to pause, plan, and take that next step with intention.
In this edition of my seasonal lifestyle series, I’m sharing a few of my personal fall favourites - from entertaining and interiors to seasonal fashion and local gems worth exploring. I hope you find inspiration, a new idea (or two), and maybe a moment of calm to enjoy your own beautiful space.
Here’s to fresh starts, fall colours, and finding comfort in the spaces we call home.
Warmly,
Suzan

Fall Market Insight: Opportunity Amid Change
This fall, the real estate landscape across Oakville, Mississauga, and the GTA is full of conversations - and not all of them are optimistic. With interest rates still making headlines, mixed signals in the media, and uncertainty around pricing, many buyers and sellers are pressing pause, unsure of what comes next.
But here’s the truth I’ve learned from years in this business:
There is always opportunity in every market.
It just takes perspective - and the right strategy - to find it.
For buyers, that might mean finally having the breathing room to explore options without the pressure of bidding wars. For sellers, it means preparing a home that tells a clear story and stands out in a more selective environment. And for those on the fence? This is a season for planning - getting educated, watching neighbourhood trends, and staying ahead of what’s coming.
Real estate is never just about timing the market - it’s about timing your life. If you’re thinking about a move, now is the time to align your goals with a plan that makes sense for you, not just the headlines.
If you’re curious about what’s happening in your area or what your options might look like this fall - I’d love to sit down and talk it through.

Interior Design: Welcoming Fall Indoors
This autumn, nothing transforms a space like rich, comforting tones that whisper of warmth and calm. Enter Cinnamon Slate (2113‑40) - Benjamin Moore’s 2025 Colour of the Year - a nuanced, inviting blend of heathered plum and velvety brown, rooted in modern sensibility and quiet confidence.
Design tip: Start with an accent wall in Cinnamon Slate for dramatic impact - or weave it through your décor via soft layering. Think plush velvet throw pillows, richly stained wood furniture, or artful frames painted in this deep, approachable hue.
Styling Ideas to Welcome Fall:
Layered Textures & Cozy Accents
Pair Cinnamon Slate with tactile fabrics - think cable-knit throws, suede cushions, and wool rugs. These elements play beautifully against its soft, moody undertones.
Seasonal Palette Pairings
Lean into autumnal depth with complementary shades like Leather Saddle Brown and Ashwood Moss from the 2025 palette Benjamin Moore. Imagine a vignette with a ceramics vase in Tissue Pink, a moss-green accent chair, or a throw in Chowning’s Tan.
Ambient Lighting & Metallic Touches
Soft, golden lighting - via candles or brass fixtures - invites an intimate ambiance, reflecting off Cinnamon Slate’s warmth to envelop the room in glow.
Statement Decor with Subtle Harmony Consider swapping out lighter spring decor for deeper woods, amber-toned glassware, and dried floral arrangements - simple touches that feel seasonal but timeless.

Apple Cider, Hay Rides & Pumpkin Patches
There’s something timeless about fall traditions - the crunch of leaves underfoot, the smell of fresh cider, and the joy of wandering through a pumpkin patch on a crisp afternoon. Whether you’re heading out with little ones or planning a laid-back weekend escape, these classic autumn experiences never go out of style. Here are a few of my favourite local spots and my favourite cider recipe to soak up the season.

Cozy Fall Sips: Martha Stewart’s Homemade Apple Cider
Nothing says autumn like a steaming mug of apple cider, and one of my absolute favourite recipes comes from Martha Stewart. With just 7 pounds of cored (but unpeeled) apples - no fancy cider press required - you can create a deeply comforting and true-to-the-season drink at home.

Ingredients
7 pounds apples, cored but unpeeled, washed and cut into 1 ½-inch wedges
Directions
Line a large colander with a triple layer of cheesecloth, leaving an overhang of a few inches. Place colander over a large pot.
Working in batches in a food processor (don't fill it more than halfway), grind apples to the consistency of thick applesauce, scraping down sides as needed.
Transfer applesauce to colander. Once all of applesauce has been added, use overhang of cheesecloth to enclose applesauce; twist to close. Weigh down with a heavy pot, such as a Dutch oven.
Refrigerate at least 4 hours and up to overnight. Discard solids.
The result? A pure, unsweetened cider you can refrigerate for up to a week - or freeze (up to 3 months) for future cozy cravings visit Martha Stewart.
This cider is ideal on its own - but feel free to take it up a notch. Add a cinnamon stick, a slice of fresh orange, or a splash of Calvados or brandy to elevate it into an elegant fall cocktail - or keep it alcohol-free for everyone to enjoy.
Pair it with a crisp afternoon outside on a hayride, or cozy up indoors with a favourite book. Either way, this simple blend of apples and autumn time is a small ritual that brings big comfort.

Local Hay Rides & Pumpkin Patches: Back to Simpler Times
There’s something undeniably charming about a tractor-drawn hayride: the rhythmic rumble of the wagon, crisp autumn air, and golden foliage all around. It’s the kind of simple pleasure that turns ordinary weekends into memorable moments. Whether you're gathering with family or looking for a peaceful escape close to home, here are some wonderful local options to cozy up your fall.
